MISSIONS AT WAYPOINT
At Waypoint Baptist Church we are a mission sending and supporting church. We will seek out global evangelistic and discipleship opportunities that advance God’s Kingdom in accordance with the Great Commission. The sole purpose for the existence of our mission team is to encourage and enable the body to be obedient to the Holy Spirit’s evangelistic call to participate in the Acts 1:8 Challenge — To pray! To give! To go!
What does it mean to be an Acts 1:8 church?
In Acts 1:8, Jesus tells us “…You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” At Waypoint Baptist Church we have accepted the challenge to do just that! We are committed to carrying the Good News of Jesus to Jerusalem (our community), Judea & Samaria (our country), and to the ends of the earth (around the globe).
What that means for us?
We PRAY. We pray for the lost, the needy, the hopeless, for people to minister to them, and for God to direct us to them.
We GIVE. We give generously and sacrificially so others can have the peace and eternal hope that comes from knowing Jesus Christ.
We GO. We accept God’s call to deliver the Good News of Jesus wherever and whenever there are ears to hear.
Why do we do it?
“For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.” 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
This. We are compelled by Christ’s great love, convinced of His tremendous sacrifice for our sins, and overcome by His victorious resurrection! We are compelled by Christ’s love to share this saving message with everyone! We encourage you and your family to come alongside us as we pray, give, and go!
